Zita Abreu is a Contemporary British bronze artist.

She lives for part of the year in Southern Spain, spending time observing and photographing European wildlife in the Doñana National Park. Her love of nature is the inspiration for her sculpture. In addition to this Zita´s love of travel, including to South America and South East Asia, provides her with further inspiration.
Zita originally studied a biomedical science degree, and describes how anatomy and physiology studies have informed her sculpture. You may notice the anatomical correctness of Zita’s work, even with her more abstract pieces.
Zita works with a top quality Devon Foundry with whom White Sails Gallery has a close relationship. First she makes her sculptures in clay, then molds are prepared for the bronze hot-casting process, using the “lost wax” process. The sculptures are signed limited editions, with very small numbers of pieces available in each edition. Finally a patina is hand-applied to each piece: each sculpture within an edition has a unique patination.
